• Ch 1 - read for 9/6 Lab #1
• Ch 2 - read for 9/13 Lab #2
• Ch 3 - read for 9/13 Lab #2
• Chs 9 & 11 - read for 9/20 Lab #3
• Ch 10 Linear regression - read for 9/27 lab #4. Note that in Exercise 8.2 (10.2), it should say b=2.83 (a positive number)
• Ch 12 Lineararizing

Tuesday 11/8 Lab - No experiment - Go vote!!

• Instead, practice writing a lab report. Read Lab chapter 8 & do the problems (answers are included in the chapter)
• With your lab partner, write up a complete lab report for the electron diffraction lab. Finish it by Monday 11/7 at 9 am (This is your pre-lab) and upload to OneDrive.
• Read and comment on the other report in your OneDrive folder. Mark anything they did wrong or could do better in their report. Follow the guidelines and checklist from the lab manual. Mark if anything is missing or incomplete. Basically, if you were grading or trying to improve this report, what would you say? You will receive a grade for the initial report, but, more importantly, for the comments on the other report. Comments are due Monday 11/14 at 9 am.

Solutions to homework are available on-line through the use of the ProbViewer program. Download it and use the password given in class to access solutions. Two versions are available:

• Macintosh OS X version (1.3 MB .zip file)
• Windows version (1.2 MB .exe.zip file)
