Lyrics:

Kinran donsu no obi shime nagara
Hanayome goryoo wa naze naku no daro
Translation:

Although she wears a golden brocade sash,
I wonder,
why does the bride cry?
Bunkin shimada ni kamiyui nagara
Hanayome goryoo wa naze naku no daro
Although her hair is done up in the bun kin shimada,
I wonder why does the bride cry.
Anesan gokko no hanayome ningyoo wa
Akai kanoko no hurisode kiteru
Behold, here is a play doll which wears a
red kanoko kimono, with long draping sleeves.
Nake ba kanoko no tamoto ga kireru
Namida de kanoko no akai beni nijimu
When she cries the kanoko sleeves get wet by the tears,
and a brighter shade of red spreads through the cloth.
Naku ni nakarenu hanayome ningyoo wa
Akai kanoko no chiyogami ishoo

The bride doll cannot cry, even if she wanted to.
For she's a paper doll, wearing the bridal kimono of red kanoko.
